The PROTECT project purpose is to offer a soil/plant integrated protection programme by developing a range of innovative natural products, aimed at strengthening the protection of crops through the restoration of the balance between the medium and the plant. This innovative programme aims at restarting the biological balance of soils so as to re-establish the essential competing back-ups, to optimize the root resistance, prevent cell alterations
(oxidations) that may cause infections. This integrated crop protection programme is based on the use of raw materials of plant origin with special properties. It opens up a new natural alternative for the protection and/or the improvement of plant resistance. This innovative concept is founded on taking the vegetal within its environment into consideration: it combines the biological improvement of soils, the rhizosphere stimulation and the prevention of oxidative stresses upon the aerial system of cultivated plants.
